The “Yum Mama” (
ยำมาม่า) is a fairly modern Thai version of a yam salad. For this, cooked instant noodles are mixed with ingredients such
as minced meat, mhu yor or sausages, tomatoes and fresh herbs. The salad is then dressed with the typical “Nam Yam” dressing made from fish sauce, lime juice
and palm sugar. The salad takes its name from the most popular brand of instant noodles in Thailand, “Mama Noodles”.
