“Pho Pia Thod” (
เปาะเปี๊ยะทอด) is the name of the deep-fried spring rolls made from rice paper in Thailand. They are filled with a
mixture of vegetables, glass noodles and often meat or prawns. They are usually served with a sweet chilli sauce or a peanut sauce. The spring rolls are often
simply called “Pho Pia” (
เปาะเปี๊ยะ). The Thai name was taken from the Chinese word for spring roll 薄饼 (Bó Bǐng).
