Khanom Mo Kaeng

Dessert with deep-fried shallots

“Khanom Mo Kaeng” ( ขนมหม้อแกง ) is a dessert made from coconut milk, eggs, palm sugar, white sugar, salt, fried shallots and oil. It originated during the Ayutthaya period at the court of the king and is influenced by Portuguese cuisine, which was very popular there at the time.
