Jeaw Makuea Thet

Dip with chili and tomato

“Jaew Makuea Thet” ( แจ่วมะเขือเทศ ) is a dip from Isaan. To prepare it, tomatoes, chili peppers, garlic, shallots, and fermented or dried fish are roasted and then ground into a paste. This paste is then diluted with lime juice or tamarind paste to make a dip. The dip is also known as “Jeaw Mak Len” which is also the Lao name ແຈ່ວຫມາກເລັ່ນ.
