Gaeng Normai

“Gaeng Normai” ( แกงหน่อไม้ ) is a Thai soup with Lao origins that is based on a broth made from yanang extract. It contains the eponymous bamboo shoots, pork belly, potatoes, various types of mushrooms, wing beans and lemongrass. The broth is seasoned with fish sauce and plaa ra and thickened with glutinous rice flour.
